SEN Learning Support Assistant

SEN Learning Mentor Role. Location: Plymouth Hours: Full time/ Part time Contract: Temp to Perm Start date: ASAP Here at Fox Morris group, we are seeking a dedicated and compassionate SEN Learning mentor to support students with special educational needs in a PRU (Pupil referral unit) setting. This is a rewarding role for someone who is passionate about helping young people achieve and overcome barriers to reach their full potential. Key responsibilities Provide 1:1 and small group support Support students with academic progress, emotional wellbeing and behaviour Work closely with teaching staff, SENCOs, parents and external agencies Help students engage positively with learning and school life Implement and support individual education plans (IEPs) and strategies Essential Requirements Enhanced DBS on the update service (mandatory) Driving licence and car (Mandatory) Proven experience working with SEN children Excellent communication and relationship building skills A patient, empathetic and proactive approach What we offer A supportive and inclusive school environment Ongoing professional development opportunities Career progression If you re calm under pressure, kind by nature and know that a good sense of humour goes a long way in a school day.
