SEN Learning Support Assistant

SEN Learning Mentor Role.

Location: Plymouth

Hours: Full time/ Part time

Contract: Temp to Perm

Start date: ASAP

Here at Fox Morris group, we are seeking a dedicated and compassionate SEN Learning mentor to support students with special educational needs in a PRU (Pupil referral unit) setting. This is a rewarding role for someone who is passionate about helping young people achieve and overcome barriers to reach their full potential.

Key responsibilities

• Provide 1:1 and small group support
• Support students with academic progress, emotional wellbeing and behaviour
• Work closely with teaching staff, SENCOs, parents and external agencies
• Help students engage positively with learning and school life
• Implement and support individual education plans (IEPs) and strategies

Essential Requirements

• Enhanced DBS on the update service (mandatory)
• Driving licence and car (Mandatory)
• Proven experience working with SEN children
• Excellent communication and relationship building skills
• A patient, empathetic and proactive approach
