Sen English Teacher

About the Role Balfor Education is seeking an experienced and dedicated SEN English Teacher to work within a specialist education setting in Langport, Somerset. The successful teacher will be responsible for delivering English to pupils across Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4, adapting lessons and teaching approaches to meet the individual learning needs of pupils with Special Educational Needs (SEN). We are looking for a confident and compassionate teacher who can create an engaging, structured and inclusive learning environment while supporting pupils to make progress academically, socially and emotionally. Key Responsibilities Plan and deliver engaging English lessons to KS3 and KS4 pupils within an SEN setting. Adapt teaching strategies and learning materials to meet individual SEN and learning needs. Assess pupil progress and provide appropriate feedback and support. Maintain positive classroom management and promote positive behaviour. Work collaboratively with Teaching Assistants, SEN staff and other education professionals. Support the safeguarding, wellbeing and academic development of all pupils. Requirements Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or an equivalent recognised teaching qualification. Minimum 6 months UK teaching experience. Experience teaching English at KS3 and KS4 level. Previous experience working with pupils with SEN/SEND is highly desirable. Strong classroom and behaviour management skills.
