SEMH Teaching Assistant - Rochdale

Location: Rochdale
Pay: -110 per day
Contract: Full-time, temporary ongoing
Start Date: September

We are currently recruiting for a Teaching Assistant to join a Pupil Referral Unit (PRU) in Rochdale, supporting pupils with a range of SEN, SEMH and behavioural needs.

• Provide 1:1 and small-group support to pupils.
• Support students with SEMH, behavioural and additional learning needs.
• Build positive and trusting relationships with pupils.
• Help pupils manage emotions, behaviour and engagement in learning.
• Work closely with teachers and the wider support team.
• Encourage pupils to develop confidence, resilience and independence.

• Previous experience working with children or young people with SEN/SEMH needs.
• Experience within a PRU, alternative provision, SEN school or challenging mainstream setting is desirable.
• Confident managing challenging behaviour and supporting emotional regulation.
• Patient, resilient and approachable.
• A genuine passion for helping young people reach their potential.
