About the Role
Berkeley Scott seeks experienced School Chefs for temporary assignments across Cheltenham and Gloucestershire. This ongoing role suits professional cooks who thrive within an education setting, preparing nutritious meals for pupils during term time. Working patterns typically cover school hours, Monday to Friday, offering flexibility across various local schools. Pay starts from £17.00 hourly, with weekly wages plus holiday entitlement included. Candidates must possess prior catering experience, ideally gained in a school or similar environment, alongside strong food hygiene knowledge and the ability to manage kitchen duties efficiently. Chefs living in Cheltenham or nearby towns such as Bishop's Cleeve, Tewkesbury, Winchcombe, Gotherington and Prestbury are especially encouraged to apply for these varied ongoing placements.

Berkeley Scott Recruitment are currently looking for experienced School Chefs to join our temporary team, working at schools across Cheltenham, Gloucestershire and the surrounding areas.
This is a great opportunity for experienced chefs who enjoy working in an education environment and are looking for flexible temporary work, ongoing assignments and the opportunity to work at a variety of schools.
Commutable areas
We are particularly interested in chefs based in or around:
Cheltenham, Bishopandrsquo;s Cleeve, Tewkesbury, Winchcombe, Gotherington, Prestbury and surrounding areas.
We''re looking for chefs who have:
Previous professional catering/chef experience
Ideally, experience working within a school, education or similar catering environment
A good understanding of food hygiene and allergen awareness
The ability to work independently and as part of a catering team
A reliable and professional approach
A passion for preparing fresh, nutritious food
DBS Requirement
Due to the nature of the role, candidates will be required to have an Enhanced DBS check suitable for working in a school/education setting.
Candidates who already hold a suitable Enhanced DBS are welcome to apply. If you do not currently have one, Berkeley Scott can advise you on the DBS application process and requirements.
