School Caretaker

Part-Time School Caretaker - Sittingbourne

Location: Sittingbourne
Hours: Monday to Friday, Part-Time (20 Hours Per Week)
Pay: -15+ per hour

We are currently seeking a reliable and proactive School Caretaker to join a friendly and supportive school in Sittingbourne. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced caretaker or facilities professional looking for a long-term role within an educational setting.

• Opening and securing the school premises each day
• Carrying out basic maintenance, repairs and general handyman duties
• Undertaking routine health and safety checks across the site
• Ensuring school buildings and grounds are safe, clean and well maintained
• Setting up classrooms, halls and other areas for school events and activities
• Monitoring site security and reporting any maintenance issues
• Supporting with deliveries, contractor visits and site access arrangements
• Assisting with the day-to-day upkeep of school facilities

• Previous experience as a School Caretaker, Site Manager, Facilities Assistant, Maintenance Operative or in a similar role
• Good practical maintenance and DIY skills
• A strong understanding of health and safety responsibilities
• The ability to work independently and manage their workload effectively
• A flexible, hands-on and dependable approach
• An Enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to obtain one
