We seek a Research Assistant or Research Associate to contribute to the NIHR-funded NEST study, which investigates how to support individuals of reproductive age in contact with mental health services to improve planning and fitness for parenthood. The successful candidate will join a team of researchers, clinicians, and academics, under supervision from the Chief Investigator (Dr Claire Wilson). Responsibilities include data collection, analysis, and publication of research findings.This is a full-time, fixed-term 12-month contract. Part-time options will be considered.About you
Research Assistant - Essential criteria
Undergraduate qualification (e.g., BSc, BA) in a related field with a minimum of a 2:1 classification.Experience recruiting participants and conducting qualitative interviews on sensitive topics.Understanding and experience in evaluating complex interventions and realist evaluations.Experience in qualitative data analysis.Ability to deliver research activities to milestones.Research Assistant - Desirable criteria
Experience working in a mental health setting and assessing mental health conditions.Understanding of preconception health literature and policy context.Experience with healthcare data, including quantitative analysis.Ability to interpret and write research findings for academic and policy audiences.Research Associate - Essential criteria
PhD in a relevant subject area (or pending results).Good understanding of UK mental health services.Experience recruiting participants and conducting qualitative interviews.Experience in evaluating complex interventions and realist evaluations.Experience in qualitative data analysis.Ability to meet research milestones.Excellent communication skills and stakeholder engagement experience.Research Associate - Desirable criteria
