Overview
We are recruiting to a Registered Manager position at one of our five adult short breaks services in Kent. Hedgerows, in Staplehurst near Maidstone, supports overnight stays for people aged 18 and over with eligible care and support needs under the Care Act. The service can support up to 4 people for overnight stays and requires registration with the Care Quality Commission for accommodation with personal care. This post is customer-facing, and the Council has a statutory duty under Part 7 of the Immigration Act (2016) to ensure post holders have sufficient spoken English to perform the job requirements.Responsibilities
Lead the management of Hedgerows and a staff team, including development, supervision, and training to ensure exceptional, person-centred support to achieve individual outcomes.Apply for and achieve Registration with the Care Quality Commission for accommodation with personal care.Ensure compliance with relevant acts and regulations, with a focus on the Health and Social Care Act, Health and Safety Act, and Care Act.Manage budgeting and operate within cash limits; oversee service delivery to maintain quality standards.Attend to shift coverage as required to meet the needs of people staying at the service.Qualifications
Proven experience of supporting people with learning disabilities, physical disabilities, autism, behaviours that challenge, or sensory impairments.Achieved a level 5 diploma in leadership for health and social care or equivalent.Proven experience in a management role within the social care sector, including supervision and appraisal of staff.Experience with performance management, capability processes, and staff development.Strong knowledge of relevant legislation and regulations, particularly the Health and Social Care Act, Health and Safety Act, and Care Act.Experience with budgeting and working within cash limits.Working Pattern and Interviews
The position is 37 hours per week, typically 9 to 5, Monday to Friday, with occasional shift cover to meet service needs. Interviews will be held shortly after the close date and may include a written exercise and presentation.Rewards and Benefits
