This is an excellent opportunity for experienced HGV Class 2 drivers looking for ongoing work, consistent hours and the opportunity to work for the local council. Refuse Truck Driver Role: You will be responsible for driving and operating a refuse collection vehicle as part of a waste collection crew, working alongside loaders to collect household and public waste across Rochdale. Previous waste or refuse collection experience is desirable but not essential. However, driving and operating refuse collection vehicles requires a particular skill set, and the role will suit drivers who are confident, responsible and comfortable working in a busy, customer-facing environment. As the Refuse Truck Driver, you will have responsibility for the route, vehicle and members of the collection crew, ensuring all work is completed safely, efficiently and in accordance with relevant legislation and Council procedures.
