Quantity Surveyor - Renewables and HVAC

About the Role As my client continues to expand into large-scale solar farm development, they''re looking to recruit a Quantity Surveyor to manage the commercial and financial aspects of our growing renewable energy portfolio alongside our HVAC projects. The role will cover solar rooftop, utility-scale solar farm, Battery Energy Storage System (BESS), ASHP and GSHP projects across the UK, taking responsibility for contract negotiation, applications for payment, subcontract procurement, valuations and project cost control. The successful candidate will ideally come from a mechanical and electrical (MandE) background, with experience of civil engineering works associated with solar farm construction. Working closely with the director and project delivery teams, you will manage commercial risks, maintain accurate financial forecasts and protect project profitability from contract award through to final account. Key Responsibilities Review and negotiate construction contracts with clients and developers, agreeing clear scopes, commercial terms and payment arrangements. Prepare and submit applications for payment, supported by accurate valuations of completed works, materials and variations. Monitor payment certificates, outstanding payments and retention, following up with clients to support cash flow. Obtain and compare subcontractor quotations, negotiate prices and terms, and prepare subcontract orders with clearly defined scopes.
