Quantity Surveyor Groundworks

BMSL Group are recruiting for a Quantity Surveyor to join one of our established clients on a permanent basis. Ideally you will specialise in Groundworks packages. Initial project will be Caerphilly area. Salary: 55k to 66k dependant on experience Key Responsibilities: Prepare accurate and detailed cost estimates for projects, with a focus on Groundworks packages. Analyse drawings, specifications, and tender documents to prepare material, labour, and subcontractor costings. Source, negotiate, and assess subcontractor and supplier quotations. Work closely with project managers, quantity surveyors, and the wider commercial team to ensure estimates align with project requirements. Contribute to tender submissions, value engineering, and risk analysis. Maintain up-to-date knowledge of industry pricing, supply chain trends, and construction techniques. Attend site visits as required. Skills and Experience Required: Proven experience as a QS within the construction industry, with strong Groundowrks project knowledge. Excellent analytical and numerical skills with attention to detail. Strong communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to build relationships with suppliers and subcontractors. Proficient in estimating software and Microsoft Office (Excel in particular). Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel to projects and offices.
