A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a Quantity Surveyor to join a leading main contractor delivering a high-profile, major infrastructure project in Birmingham. This is an excellent opportunity to be part of a large, complex civil engineering scheme, working within an experienced and supportive commercial team for one of the UK''s leading main contractors.

The Role
As a Quantity Surveyor, you will quickly become an integral part of the commercial management team and responsible for a portfolio of subcontract packages, taking them from procurement to final accounts. You''ll work closely with senior commercial staff while gaining exposure to all aspects of project delivery.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist in managing project costs to ensure delivery within budget
• Support the preparation of cost reports, forecasts, and budget updates
• Administer contracts, ensuring compliance with terms and conditions
• Assist with the management of variations and change control processes
• Support subcontract procurement, including tendering and evaluation
• Prepare and assist with interim valuations and applications for payment
• Identify and escalate commercial risks and opportunities
• Liaise with project teams, subcontractors, and stakeholders
• Contribute to value engineering initiatives
• Provide commercial support to the wider project team

Requirements

• Experience as a Quantity Surveyor or Assistant Quantity Surveyor within infrastructure, civil engineering, or utilities
• Familiarity with the NEC form of contract
• Strong numerical and analytical skills
• Good communication and organisational abilities
• Able to commute to Central Birmingham (minimum expectation 3 days per week)

Salary & Package

• -40,000 to -60,000 basic salary
• Company car
• 25-26 days annual leave + bank holidays
