Quantity Surveyor - Flooring

Job Title: Quantity Surveyor
Location: Berkhamsted, Hertfordshire
Working Arrangement: Fully office-based

About the Role
Our client, a well-established specialist in high-end commercial and residential fit-out and flooring solutions, is seeking an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join their team. This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in managing project finances from start to finish, ensuring delivery is on budget and to the highest standard.

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare and manage accurate cost estimates, budgets, and forecasts for multiple projects

• Conduct detailed cost analysis and provide commercial advice to project teams

• Manage procurement, tendering, and subcontractor agreements

• Monitor and report on project expenditure, valuations, and variations

• Assess and negotiate subcontractor claims and final accounts

• Ensure compliance with contractual obligations and company procedures

• Liaise with clients, contractors, and internal teams to ensure smooth project delivery

• Prepare monthly cost reports and maintain robust project documentation

Requirements:

• Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor within the construction, fit-out, or flooring sectors

• Strong commercial and contractual knowledge (JCT contracts preferred)

• Excellent negotiation, communication, and stakeholder management skills

• High attention to detail with the ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously

• Strong numerical and analytical abilities

• Proficient in MS Office and relevant QS software

• Relevant degree or professional qualification in Quantity Surveying (or equivalent experience)
