Quantity Surveyor

A leading main contractor in the Ashford area is seeking a Quantity Surveyor to join their commercial team on a freelance basis. This is an excellent opportunity to play a central role in the commercial delivery of a variety of construction projects, working closely with project managers, subcontractors, and supply chain partners. The commercial team is key to the successful delivery of projects across multiple sectors. In this role, you will support procurement, commercial management, and contractual processes on a range of construction projects. Key ResponsibilitiesProcurement and Cost PlanningPrepare and quantify materials, labour, and subcontractor requirementsSupport procurement and subcontractor appointment processesEnsure compliance with company commercial procedures and frameworksCollaborate with project managers and site teams to ensure cost efficiency and project viabilityMaintain adherence to project specifications, programmes, and quality standards Cost Control and ReportingMonitor and report on project costs, including variations and site valuationsProcess contractor, subcontractor, and consultant orders and paymentsManage variation orders and dayworksConduct monthly site valuations and cost reportingUndertake the Cost Value Reconciliation (CVR) processProduce cost-to-complete forecasts and final account projections Experience and RequirementsPrevious experience as a Quantity Surveyor or Commercial Surveyor within main contracting or general constructionStrong ..... full job details .....
