Quantity Surveyor - Tier 1 Main Contractor - Sheffield, South Yorkshire

Fawkes & Reece are proud to be partnering with a UK leading Tier 1 Main Contractor working on a prestigious and high profile -70m new build Education project in Sheffield.

As Quantity Surveyor you''ll be managing commercial resources to maximise planned gross margin through the placement and control of contracts and subcontracts. You will be working closely with the Senior Quantity Surveyor to deliver this high end project reporting directly to them. Our client is offering a clear progression route to Senior and the opportunity to run your own scheme afterwards.

Duties of a Quantity Surveyor:

• Managing commercial resources to maximise planned gross margin and support budgeted profitability
• Tendering, evaluating and appointing subcontractors, and placing orders for materials and plant
• Identifying, evaluating and negotiating variations to contracts with customers and suppliers
• Measuring and valuing work to support invoicing of customers and payment to suppliers
• Producing monthly VCRs and End Life Forecasts, and managing cashflows

Requirements for a Quantity Surveyor:

• Hold relevant qualifications (Degree or HNC in Quantity Surveying desirable) and have experience in a similar role
• You have good organisational skills and the ability to prioritise and work to deadlines
• You''re flexible and able to work as part of a team and using your own initiative
• You can use a range of IT packages including Microsoft Office and bespoke packages
