QUALITY CONTROL INSPECTOR

Global Recruitment is recruiting on behalf of our client in North Lanarkshire. Our client specialises in high-precision engineering and manufacturing projects within the Oil & Gas and Military/Defence sectors.
We are seeking a precise and detail-oriented Quality Control Inspector to support quality assurance and ensure components meet demanding customer specifications and industry standards.
Pay Rate: Competitive, dependent on experience.
The Role
The successful candidate will carry out visual and dimensional inspections using manual measuring equipment, Coordinate Measuring Machines (CMM) and digital reporting tools. You will play an important role in maintaining accuracy, quality and traceability across components manufactured for these specialist sectors.
Key Responsibilities

Carry out visual and dimensional inspections of raw materials and finished goods using micrometers, callipers and other manual measuring equipment, as well as the Aberlink Azimuth CMM.

Operate CMM inspection programmes using Aberlink 3D software, including CAD programming and comparison modules to verify complex geometries.

Prepare and maintain accurate digital dimensional inspection reports, ensuring reliable records and full traceability throughout the manufacturing process.

Document non-conformance reports (NCRs) and record findings within the Quality Management System.

Manage calibration schedules for inspection and metrology equipment, including hand tools and the Aberlink CMM, and maintain accurate, audit-ready records.

Follow all site Health & Safety procedures and wear the required PPE, including safety boots, safety glasses and a high-visibility vest.
Skills & Experience Required

Experience in a high-precision manufacturing environment.

Ability to read technical blueprints and interpret complex engineering drawings.

Hands-on experience using Coordinate Measuring Machines (CMM). Knowledge of Aberlink software and systems is highly desirable.

Confidence using digital inspection software and maintaining accurate, traceable records.

Understanding of ISO 9001 and relevant industry standards, particularly those associated with Oil & Gas and Defence, would be an advantage.

Ability to work independently and communicate effectively with production, engineering and QHSE teams.
