Job Title: Quality Inspector
Location: High Wycombe
Salary -30,000 - -35,000 per annum
Role Purpose
The Quality Inspector is responsible for carrying out inspection activities on both incoming and outgoing products while supporting the Quality team with documentation and compliance requirements. The role ensures that products meet defined specifications and that accurate records are maintained to support continuous improvement and customer satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities
Inspection & Verification
- Perform dimensional and visual checks on incoming goods in line with inspection instructions, drawings, and specifications.
- Process goods-in documentation through the ERP system.
- Record inspection outcomes and generate reports, including ISIRs, Keyence results, and other relevant documentation.
- Isolate and record non-conforming products, ensuring the quarantine register is up to date.
- Support resolution of product quality concerns by providing accurate inspection data.
- Manage calibration checks on inspection tools and maintain the gauge register.
- Provide updates to inspection reports as needed.
- Support activities on the assembly line, including inspection and maintenance record-keeping.
- Collate and prepare inspection data for internal reporting and customer documentation.
- Assist with certification reviews and approvals.
- Contribute to quality reporting within the ERP system.
- Maintain accurate and timely quality records to support audits and compliance.
- Follow established procedures, policies, and 5S standards to maintain an efficient and safe working environment.
- Apply FOD awareness across work areas and promote good housekeeping practices.
- Work proactively to reduce claims, queries, and rework.
- Communicate effectively with both internal and external stakeholders on product-related quality issues.
- Uphold a consistent, high level of inspection accuracy and reliability.
- Approval and release of quarantined items.
- Oversight of gauge register and calibration schedules.
- Compilation and submission of inspection reports.
- Verification of assembly line checks and related documentation.
- Use of inspection equipment and statistical process control methods.
- Strong attention to detail with a methodical approach.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
- Experience with measurement tools and inspection equipment.
- Knowledge of fasteners, manufacturing, or engineering processes.
- Clear communication and teamwork skills.
