A leading civil infrastructure organisation is seeking an experienced Quality Inspector for a contract opportunity within the civil engineering and infrastructure industry. This Quality Inspector role is ideal for a candidate with a strong background in site inspections, quality assurance, and supporting project teams to achieve a right-first-time culture across major construction works.

Role Overview

As a Quality Inspector, you will be responsible for independently inspecting construction activities, promoting quality standards across site operations, and providing coaching and guidance to delivery teams. You will act as a key point of contact for quality-related matters, ensuring works are completed in accordance with approved designs, specifications, and inspection requirements.

Contract Details

-Position: Quality Inspector

-Engagement Type: 12 month contract inside IR35

-Industry: Civil Engineering, Construction & Infrastructure

-Location: Heywood. Greater Manchester

-Working Arrangement: Site-based

Responsibilities

-Carry out independent inspections of works in progress and upon completion.

-Promote a strong quality culture through on-site coaching, mentoring, and training.

-Review completed works against approved detailed designs and project specifications.

-Act as a focal point for quality-related issues and support effective resolution.

-Liaise with delivery teams and subcontractors to ensure full understanding of quality assurance requirements.

-Represent the quality function during shift briefings, planning meetings, and site coordination activities.

-Escalate non-conformances and quality concerns to senior quality personnel.

-Assist in the preparation and management of Inspection Test Plans (ITPs).

-Ensure inspection hold points are adhered to and all quality documentation is completed accurately and on time.

-Support Quality Engineers with site surveillance activities and quality audits.

-Contribute to successful project handovers through effective documentation and records management.

Requirements

-Experience working on civil engineering projects.

-Knowledge of construction activities such as precast concrete, piling, earthworks, and surfacing.

-Strong experience carrying out site inspections against approved detailed designs.

-Proven experience managing Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs).

-Good IT skills, including Microsoft Word and Excel.

-Relevant CSCS Card.

-Quality-related site training or practical quality assurance experience.
