Quality Engineer
Salary: £38,000–£45,000 per annum
Location: Chesterfield
We are seeking an experienced Quality Engineer to join a fast-paced manufacturing environment producing safety-critical products where quality, safety and reliability are non-negotiable.
This is a highly hands-on role for someone who enjoys being on the shop floor, identifying problems before they become issues and driving improvements through to completion. Working closely with Production, Engineering, Logistics and Commercial teams, you will play a key role in strengthening quality standards and preventing recurring issues.
Key Responsibilities:- Lead day-to-day quality activity across the manufacturing operation.
- Identify, contain and resolve quality issues, non-conformances and customer complaints.
- Lead 8D, Root Cause Analysis and CAPA activity through to verified closure.
- Monitor and improve Right First Time (RFT) performance.
- Develop and maintain procedures, work instructions, inspection plans and quality standards.
- Conduct internal audits and support external audits and customer visits.
- Drive continuous improvement and robust change management.
- Support NPI and APQP activities.
- Provide quality leadership and act as the primary site quality contact when required.
You will have proven experience in a manufacturing quality environment, with a strong shop-floor focus and a track record of solving problems rather than simply identifying them.
Essential:
- Manufacturing Quality Engineering experience.
- Strong knowledge of 8D, RCA and CAPA.
- Experience with QA, QC, internal audits and QMS.
- Ability to develop procedures, work instructions and inspection standards.
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills.
- Confident communicator who can influence at all levels.
- Proactive, resilient and willing to take ownership.
Experience within safety-critical manufacturing, construction products or regulated environments would be highly advantageous.
What’s on Offer:- £38,000–£45,000 salary.
- Genuine opportunity to make a significant impact on the quality function.
- Career progression within a growing manufacturing business.
- Company pension.
- Free/on-site parking.
- Cycle to work scheme.
- Company events.
If you are a hands-on Quality Engineer who takes ownership, thrives on solving problems and is passionate about getting things right first time, we want to hear from you.
