The Role

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Purchasing Manager to join a successful and growing consumer goods business based in Wimbledon.



Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement purchasing and procurement strategies aligned with business goals.
  • Build, manage, and develop strong supplier relationships across domestic and international markets.
  • Oversee inventory planning to ensure stock availability while maintaining cost efficiency.
  • Manage purchasing budgets and support cost-saving initiatives.
  • Work closely with product development teams to support new product launches and ongoing product innovation.
  • Ensure import/export compliance and maintain supplier documentation.
  • Monitor supplier performance, lead times, pricing, and quality standards.
  • Collaborate with finance, logistics, and commercial teams to support business growth.
  • Produce purchasing reports and analysis to support strategic decision-making.
  • Lead, mentor, and develop members of the purchasing team.


Requirements:

  • Previous experience in a Purchasing Manager, Procurement Manager, Senior Buyer, or similar role.
  • Proven experience managing suppliers and negotiating commercial agreements.
  • Experience within consumer goods, retail, FMCG, health & beauty, fashion, or a related industry would be highly advantageous.
  • Strong leadership skills with experience developing and managing teams.
  • Advanced Excel skills and strong analytical capabilities.
  • Experience with ERP or purchasing systems such as NetSuite would be beneficial.
  • Commercially astute with strong negotiation and problem-solving abilities.
  • Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Able to build strong relationships both internally and externally.
  • Self-motivated, adaptable, and capable of working effectively within a fast-paced environment.
