Purchasing Manager - South Yorkshire
We''re excited to be partnering with a well-established UK manufacturer, working with advanced technology to support leading OEMs across sectors like defence, construction, rail, and much more.
With in-house expertise spanning laser cutting, CNC machining, fabrication, welding, and full assembly, they deliver complex projects from start to finish and they''re now looking for a Purchasing Manager to join their team. If you have proven experience in purchasing or procurement within a manufacturing or engineering environment - we would love to hear from you!
In this role, you''ll:
- Oversee supplier performance, negotiate contracts, and improve purchasing processes.
- Forecast procurement needs in line with market trends.
- Lead and develop a small purchasing team, driving both performance and personal growth.
- Deliver cost reductions and track performance against clear KPIs.
- Collaborate with internal departments to ensure procurement aligns with operational requirements.
- Work closely with Finance to ensure accuracy in payments and reporting.
What we''re looking for:
- Proven experience in purchasing or procurement within a manufacturing or engineering environment.
- Ability to read and interpret technical engineering drawings.
- Strong negotiation and contract management skills.
- Team management experience with a track record of developing others.
- Knowledge of supply chain and lean principles.
- Relevant qualifications (CIPS or degree) or equivalent practical expertise.
