Post: Purchase Ledger Clerk Department: Finance Team Reports To: Financial Controller Pauline Quirke Academy of Performing Arts (PQA) is a UK-wide network of performing arts academies providing outstanding extracurricular training for students aged 4 18. Through high-quality tuition in Comedy and Drama, Musical Theatre and Film and Television, PQA empowers young people to build confidence, creativity and life skills in a safe and inclusive environment. The purpose of this role is to ensure the accurate and efficient management of the purchase ledger function, maintaining strong financial control and supporting smooth business operations. Key Responsibilities As part of a small finance team, you will: Process incoming invoices accurately, ensuring that they are verified and coded to the appropriate accounts. Match, reconcile and update PO system for all appropriate invoices. Prepare, authorise and record payments to suppliers ensuring compliance with payment terms. Maintain organised records of all transactions ensuring that all financial documents are up to date and accessible. Manage supplier queries and resolve any discrepancies related to payments or invoices, fostering positive relationships. Process employee expense claims and credit card transactions through the purchase ledger. Calculate and verify VAT on all purchase ledger transactions. Other ad-hoc processes as required.
