Publishing Systems Engineer

Reporting into the Publishing Systems Manager, the Publishing Systems Engineer is responsible for the support and development of the publishing system environment, working with end users to maximise the effectiveness of the censhare system through configuration, training and knowledge sharing. Supporting all aspects of the Magazine creative workflow including print and digital outputs. Managing and developing the back-end Linux and Windows servers (AWS) to ensure availability and cost effectiveness are maximised. Configuration and maintenance of the censhare and OneVision automation systems and configuration and user support for the Monotype font management solution. It is a crucial role working with the system providers (censhare, Onevision, Monotype and AWS), and the Hearst technology services department (HTS), to ensure that the system remains at optimum performance at all times.Main Duties

General administrationTroubleshooting editorial workflow in a timely manner.System Updates, application configuration changes, (testing/go-live planning)Configuration management through GITUser Support/TrainingSupporting editorial users to resolve production problems.Censhare - User induction training and support.Adobe InDesign and Photoshop (support, how to).MacOS familiarity.Maintaining documentation to internal Wiki site.DevelopmentEngage in projects and development work, planning and implementation. Update deployment and rollout.Desktop Fonts license managementQuotes to business usersBusiness process/legal rules enforcementPurchase managementMonotype (setup, management, font data, licensing info)System maintenance:Linux and Windows administration.Management and troubleshooting of 3rd party applicationsWhat We Are Looking For
