Project Manager

The Client
Our client is a leading joint venture contractor delivering essential infrastructure works within the water and utilities sector. With a strong pipeline of secured projects on the Southern Water AMP8 framework, they are looking to strengthen their delivery team with an experienced Project Manager.

The Role
As Project Manager, you will take responsibility for the successful delivery of civil engineering and utilities schemes, ensuring works are completed safely, on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. You will provide leadership to project teams, manage client and stakeholder relationships, and oversee all commercial, operational, and safety aspects of delivery.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage multi-disciplinary teams to deliver water and utilities projects across the AMP8 programme

• Develop and oversee project plans, programmes, and budgets in line with client requirements

• Monitor progress, costs, and risks, providing accurate reports to senior management and the client

• Ensure compliance with health, safety, environmental, and quality standards at all times

• Manage subcontractors, suppliers, and the direct workforce to achieve programme and commercial objectives

• Maintain strong client and stakeholder relationships to support collaborative delivery

• Identify opportunities for innovation, efficiency, and value engineering within projects

Candidate Requirements

• Proven experience as a Project Manager within the civil engineering, utilities, or water sectors

• Strong knowledge of NEC contracts and commercial management

• Excellent leadership and communication skills, able to motivate and manage teams effectively

• Commercially astute with experience in budget control and cost reporting

• Strong focus on health, safety, quality, and programme delivery

• Degree qualified in civil engineering or a related field, or equivalent practical experience

Location
Sussex, with travel to projects across the Southern Water AMP8 region as required.
