Production Manager (Heavy Manufacturing) Salary: £45,000 per annum Hours: 07 00 (Flexible) Overtime: Available About the Role We are seeking a proactive and organised Production Manager to oversee the day-to-day operation of our core shop department. Previous foundry or core shop experience is advantageous but not essential, as we welcome applicants with strong supervisory, manufacturing, or production management backgrounds. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring production targets, quality standards, and safety requirements are met while supporting continuous improvement across the department. Key Responsibilities Plan and organise machine workloads on a daily basis. Monitor and check the quality of completed work. Ensure machines are operating efficiently and effectively. Provide hands-on support with machine operation when required. Troubleshoot and resolve machine and production issues. Monitor and maintain process control procedures. Assist with recruitment activities, including liaising with agencies and conducting interviews. Ensure all cores are prepared and ready for the following day''s casting schedule. Order and maintain stock levels of departmental supplies and consumables. Conduct weekly inspections of racking and report any damage. Ensure core boxes are stored in the correct locations.
