We''re recruiting for a modern, highly automated manufacturing site producing high-volume engineered components for automotive and wider industrial customers. It''s part of a substantial group, but the individual sites are given plenty of autonomy. This particular operation is relatively small, modern and fast-moving, with significant volumes passing through production every day. They''re looking for a hands-on Production Manager to take responsibility for the day-to-day running of manufacturing. This isn''t a role for someone who wants to manage production from a spreadsheet. You''ll need to be visible on the shop floor, understand what''s happening, spot problems early and know your people, processes and equipment. What you''ll be doing You''ll take responsibility for: Production planning and scheduling Manpower and shift planning Delivering output, quality and efficiency targets Leading, training and motivating the production team Health and Safety on the shop floor Monitoring performance and addressing production issues Driving continuous improvement Working closely with Quality, Engineering and Maintenance Ensuring production operates in line with IATF 16949 requirements You''ll report to an experienced General Manager who has been with the business for many years and knows the operation inside out.
