White Label Recruitment are working with a growing electronics manufacturing business that is looking to recruit a Production Engineer to join its manufacturing team.
The business designs and manufactures bespoke HMI solutions and supplies products into a range of demanding sectors, including marine, medical, defence & aerospace and industrial markets.
This is an excellent opportunity for a Production Engineer who enjoys working closely with production, solving manufacturing problems and driving continuous improvement. The successful candidate will play a key role in improving manufacturing processes, supporting NPI and ensuring products are manufactured efficiently, safely and to the required quality standards.
The Role
- Analyse, develop and improve existing production processes to increase efficiency and reduce waste.
- Support New Product Introduction (NPI) and ensure a smooth transition from design into manufacture.
- Identify and resolve production issues through root-cause analysis and corrective actions.
- Create and maintain manufacturing documentation, including work instructions, process flows and risk assessments.
- Lead and participate in continuous improvement initiatives, including Lean, Kaizen and 5S.
- Provide technical support to production teams and act as the engineering liaison on the shop floor.
- Monitor and report on KPIs relating to quality, throughput and process reliability.
- Ensure manufacturing processes comply with relevant health, safety and quality standards.
- Work closely with Design, Quality and Maintenance teams to improve processes and equipment performance.
- Support the ongoing optimisation of manufacturing methods and production efficiency.
The Person
- Degree, HNC or HND in Mechanical, Manufacturing, Production Engineering or a related discipline.
- Previous experience within a manufacturing or production engineering environment.
- Strong understanding of Lean Manufacturing and continuous improvement principles.
- Experience with tools such as Lean, Kaizen and 5S.
- Strong problem-solving skills with a structured and analytical approach.
- Good understanding of manufacturing processes and production environments.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to work effectively across different departments.
- Experience creating manufacturing documentation, work instructions or process specifications.
- Knowledge of ISO 9001 or other relevant quality standards.
- Experience with CAD software such as SolidWorks or AutoCAD would be advantageous.
- A hands-on approach and willingness to work closely with the shop floor.
