You will like

The Product Manager / Technical Product Manager role itself, where you will take ownership of an established Storm Water Control (SWC) product portfolio.

Combining technical understanding with commercial insight, you’ll help define product strategy, drive product development and ensure solutions remain competitive, compliant and aligned with changing customer and market requirements.

Working cross-functionally with R&D, engineering, sales, marketing, production and customers, you will:

• Drive development and optimisation of the existing stormwater product range
• Manage product development and improvement projects through R&D
• Analyse market trends, competitor activity, customer feedback and changing industry standards
• Translate customer and market requirements into commercially viable product solutions
• Manage products throughout their lifecycle, including development, optimisation and phase-out
• Improve product performance, quality and cost-effectiveness
• Provide technical product and installation support
• Produce clear technical product specifications, literature and training information
• Work with marketing to communicate product benefits and positioning
• Engage with customers, specifiers and industry stakeholders to identify opportunities
• Support product compliance with relevant environmental and regulatory requirements
• Deliver product training to colleagues and other stakeholders

This is a genuine technical/commercial Product Manager opportunity rather than a purely marketing-led role, with significant scope to influence the future direction of the portfolio. 

You will have

To be successful as Product Manager / Technical Product Manager, you will ideally bring a combination of technical, commercial and project management capability.

Experience within stormwater, drainage, SuDS, water management or civil engineering would be particularly relevant, although candidates from associated building products, construction products or technical manufacturing/OEM environments are also encouraged. You will ideally demonstrate:

• Product management and/or technical product development experience
• Strong project management skills
• Technical understanding of engineered products or systems
• Commercial awareness and market analysis capability
• Ability to understand customer requirements and translate them into product solutions
• Experience working effectively across multiple departments
• Strong communication, presentation and stakeholder-management skills
• An innovative, customer-focused and accountable approach

Direct stormwater sector experience is highly desirable rather than an absolute prerequisite.
