Principal Water Network Engineer/Modeller

This role is based in Manchester, UK with hybrid working and opportunities to contribute to global projects.Role: Water Network Engineer (Experience welcomed) leading, informing, and delivering technical excellence within a UK-wide team. You will contribute to major partnerships with water companies, driving projects from feasibility and planning through design, construction, and long-term operations as part of a national multi-billion portfolio.Responsibilities
Hydraulic modelling of water networks including building, verifying, and using hydraulic models in capital projectsDevelop innovative solutions from feasibility through optioneering, detailed design, commissioning, and operations of assets (pipelines, service reservoirs, pumping stations, control valves)Develop control philosophies for operation of new assetsDevelop system-level control and operation for entire schemesIntegrate new schemes with existing networks to ensure efficient future operation with minimal customer impactAct as technical lead within a multidisciplinary teamWhat you’ll need
Demonstrable and progressive experience of water network operations, hydraulic modelling, optioneering, and engineering designProficiency in modelling software such as Synergi Water/Liquid, InfoWorks WS Pro, or EPANETExperience in water quality modelling including chlorine decay, discolouration risk, water age, and PODDS modellingExpertise in developing control philosophies for complex strategic networksProven experience in managing and developing diverse teamsStrong communication skills to convey technical information clearly to both technical and non-technical audiencesExcellent writing skills for engineering reports, guidance documents, and proposalsWhat We Offer
