for a
Principal
level role to join our business and work within the Structures team, servicing clients in London, Milton Keynes, and across the Midlands. Join our industry-leading team, which offers expertise across sectors including low to medium rise residential development and structural investigations.About The Design Business:
RPS Design Division delivers projects across sectors such as residential, logistics, retail, aviation, healthcare, education, manufacturing, data centres, energy, and more. We focus on balancing form and function, considering sustainability, materiality, cost, and constructability. Digitalisation is central to our delivery, enabling clients to experience designs from concept through execution, supported by decades of multidisciplinary expertise.What you’ll be doing:
This role offers career progression for a Structural Engineer within our reputable team, involved mainly in residential foundation and superstructure projects, including low and medium rise housing and commercial developments.Duties Include:Assist senior management in leading the structural engineering teamManage projects and project teams independentlyHandle financial aspects of projectsPrepare fee quotations and invoicingManage staff and external consultantsDevelop engineering team and techniciansCollaborate with stakeholders and clientsConduct site visits, structural surveys, investigations, and repairsWho we’re looking for:
Candidates should have a degree in Civil or Structural Engineering, ideally be chartered with ICE, IStructE, or equivalent, or working towards it. Experience should include:Design of foundations, masonry, concrete, steel, and timber structures to EurocodesExperience in residential markets, both traditional and framed structuresKnowledge of project financial management and client developmentExperience in structural investigations, including those related to the Building Safety ActFamiliarity with Tekla (Tekla Designer, Tedds), AutoCAD, RevitLeadership skills and management experience advantageousDecision-making ability, motivation, initiative, and autonomous working styleWhat’s in it for you?
