Principal Infrastructure/Civil Engineer (General Civils and Residential) – Bristol. We are recruiting a Principal Infrastructure/Civil Engineer to join our expanding Infrastructure Engineering team in Bristol. We seek a talented individual who can deliver a high-quality service, think innovatively, and enjoy a collaborative approach to developing pragmatic and innovative design solutions to the technical challenges of land development. The candidate should have experience leading projects and teams, while also being comfortable getting hands-on with the technical design and production of drawings and documentation. The role requires a good understanding of Civil Engineering best practice and standards and the technical design skills to produce high-quality work on a range of projects. The individual will use initiative and professional judgment to support client projects and goals.Your areas of knowledge and expertise

BEng/MEng in Civil Engineering or a related degree plus 6+ years relevant postgraduate experience; ideally Chartered or Incorporated with a professional body (e.g. ICE).Demonstrable ability to lead in the production of residential or general infrastructure development schemes, including highways, drainage, levels and plot engineering. Experience in taking an independent holistic lead on major projects and in managing and prioritising workload for junior team members.Ability to design using best practice and guidance such as Manual for Streets, Design and Construction Guidance, CIRIA SuDS Manual, Sewerage Sector Guidance, Building Regulations, and Local Authority design standards.Ability to prepare drawings and calculations for both private and adoptable arrangements. Experience obtaining watercourse consent and technical approval from key approving authorities (S104/S38).Numerate and software literate with experience of AutoCAD, 3D modelling (e.g., Civils3D), and drainage modelling software (e.g., Causeway Flow).Ability to manage non-technical project aspects such as contract management, financials, programme and resourcing. Client-facing experience.Consultancy/private sector development background with a pragmatic approach and understanding of residential development schemes from concept to construction.Effective organisational and communication skills with a collaborative approach. Full driving licence and access to a car.Responsibilities

Lead the production of civil infrastructure designs for residential and general development schemes.Provide hands-on technical design and production of drawings and documentation; supervise and mentor junior team members.Manage project workload, budgets, and programmes; liaise with clients and external stakeholders.Ensure compliance with design standards, regulations, and best practices across projects.Benefits
