About the Role

My client is a leading engineering business delivering innovative, high-performance solutions across complex projects. They are looking for an experienced Principal Engineer to join their Huntingdon team and provide technical leadership across a range of exciting projects.

This is a fantastic opportunity for a senior engineer looking to take ownership of complex engineering challenges, influence technical strategy, and support the development of the wider engineering team.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide technical leadership and engineering direction across complex projects.
• Lead engineering activities from concept and design through to manufacture, testing, and delivery.
• Review and approve designs, calculations, specifications, and technical documentation.
• Ensure designs meet customer, regulatory, safety, and quality requirements.
• Work closely with multidisciplinary engineering and project teams.
• Lead technical reviews, risk assessments, and problem-solving activities.
• Mentor and develop engineers across the team.
• Liaise with customers, suppliers, and other key stakeholders.
• Drive continuous improvement, engineering best practice, and technical innovation.

Essential Skills & Experience

• Degree or equivalent in Engineering or a related discipline.
• Significant engineering experience within a complex design environment.
• Proven experience in a senior/principal engineering role.
• Strong technical design and problem-solving skills.
• Experience leading complex engineering projects.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder-management skills.
• Experience mentoring and supporting other engineers.
• Strong understanding of relevant engineering standards and regulations.
• Chartered Engineer (CEng) or working towards chartership is desirable.
