About the roleAs the Principal Delivery Manager, you will work with delivery, technical and design leads to ensure projects deliver the desired outcomes for users and customers. You will collaborate with delivery teams and client stakeholders to identify and manage risk and solve issues that arise. The majority of these activities will be value adding. You''ll build effective relationships with other senior leaders within the business, enabling you to contribute to Made Tech playbooks and thought leadership. You will support the well-being and development of all team members within your portfolio, by ensuring they receive regular feedback and learning opportunities.

Principal Delivery Managers are experts in delivery and define the delivery approach and team shape, inspire trust with senior stakeholders, guide clients through the delivery process from the first client engagement and are the most senior line of project escalation for the account.

Principal Delivery Managers are responsible for delivering outcomes by collaborating with other Principals within the community, the rest of the Account management team, Delivery/Design/Technology leads within their projects, client stakeholders and internal business partners e.g. scheduling, hiring teams. They are responsible to the Co-Heads of Delivery who are their line managers and representatives in the Leadership Team.

StrategyContribute to and deliver on Account StrategyContribute to and support quarterly / annual DMO objectivesAccount Level Delivery AssuranceReport to Heads of Delivery on a weekly basis the status of quality and riskManage team resourcing to balance successful client delivery, team happiness and Made Tech commercial objectivesOversee compliance and accuracy of all critical business processes (time sheeting, invoicing, forecasting, delivery assurance reporting)Oversee commercial activities (Statements of Work, purchase order numbers, supplier contracts for partners, IR35 assessments for contractors, raising staffing demands)Hiring and Careers

Support hiring activities including interviewing and outreachManagement of Lead Delivery Managers including performance, progression and satisfactionEnsure regular feedback (constructive and/or appreciative) is shared with all individuals working on projects you are accountable for.Growing Made Tech’s Impact

Take the lead on bids, using your knowledge and experience to understand the problem and shape our responseEnsure your clients are motivated to bring repeat business and recommend our services to othersIdentify opportunities for Made Tech to deliver value for the client beyond the current projectBuild relationships with senior stakeholders within your accountPromote Made Tech and develop your personal reputation in the industry by producing thought leadership content, expanding your personal network and attending eventsCommunity and Thought Leadership

Articulate business fundamentals (USP, profitability, risks, target market)Demonstrate advocacy and prioritisation of business fundamentalsDisplay accountability for managing commercial activities within deliveriesBe able to recall and describe key Made Tech case studies, including where you were not directly involved in the projectDemonstrate prioritisation, delegation and consistent delivery of multiple goals simultaneouslyDemonstrate fast remediation of performance issuesSupport direct reports with performance remediation of indirect reportsDemonstrate encouragement and mentoring of high performers, to support them towards successful promotionsMaintain compliance with all expectations of line management at Made TechDemonstrate planning of and implementation of risk management activities within programme of projects, including consistent and reliable risk management processes and reporting to key stakeholdersDemonstrate activities to ensure that projects, teams and functions have appropriate practices in place to meet required quality levelsHave working knowledge of a wide variety of delivery approaches, methods and tools - for example Kanban, Scrum, Scaled Agile, Waterfall, Lean, XP and Design SprintsRecall examples of coaching teams on best practices in other capabilities, including Security, DevOps, User Centred Design and Data EthicsBe able to explain the GDS service standard and how to meet each point, the purpose of each phase of the GDS Service Manual and the roles and responsibilities of all of the DDAT roles that make up a Service TeamBe able to describe and advocate for the Made Tech propositionsDemonstrate advocacy of best practice delivery with teams and clientsDemonstrate experience of designing and running workshops with client stakeholders, including post-workshop feedbackDemonstrate experience taking responsibility for understanding client requirements, collecting data, delivering analysis and problem resolution.Demonstrate with feedback from seniors, peers, juniors and client stakeholdersDemonstrate positive response to feedback with course correctionAt this point, we hope you''re feeling excited about Made Tech and the job opportunity.
