Primary Teacher - SEN Focus

Pay: -190220 per day (DOE)
Hours: Mon-Fri, 8:30 - 16:00
Contract: Full-time / Term Time only
Location: Hackney, East London



About the Role

We are seeking a dedicated, enthusiastic, and compassionate Primary Teacher - Special Educational Needs Focus. The successful candidate will deliver engaging, inclusive lessons to primary-aged pupils (ages 4-18), supporting their academic, social, and emotional development within a safe and nurturing environment.

This role requires strong experience within an SEN (Special Educational Needs) setting and the ability to adapt teaching approaches to meet a diverse range of learning needs. You will play a key role in empowering pupils with additional needs to achieve their full potential.



Key Responsibilities

  • Plan, prepare, and deliver high-quality, differentiated lessons
  • Adapt teaching strategies to support a wide range of SEN needs
  • Create a positive, inclusive, and engaging learning environment
  • Monitor and assess pupil progress, maintaining accurate records
  • Collaborate with teaching assistants, SENCOs, and external professionals
  • Support pupils'' emotional wellbeing and behavioural development
  • Build strong relationships with parents and carers
  • Ensure safeguarding and health & safety policies are consistently followed


Requirements

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) - essential
  • Proven experience working within an SEN school setting (essential)
  • Strong understanding of the primary curriculum
  • Ability to differentiate effectively for diverse learners
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Patient, adaptable, and empathetic approach
  • Enhanced DBS (or willingness to obtain)
