Primary SEND PPA Cover Teacher

Pay Rate: -1,0001,450 per week (dependent on experience and responsibilities)
Working Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:30am - 3:30pm/4:00pm

About the School:
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced SEND Teacher to provide PPA (Planning, Preparation and Assessment) cover across a well-established mixed KS1-KS2 setting, where all pupils are working below the national curriculum. The pupils supported have a range of complex needs, including severe learning difficulties, autism, and social, emotional and mental health needs. Some pupils also have visual impairments, although these are not their primary area of need. Many learners are at an early stage of communication development and use a variety of approaches, including Signalong, PODD, PECS, and other alternative and augmentative communication methods.

About the Role:

• Deliver high-quality, personalised lessons across classes during PPA cover, planning and preparing engaging lesson content in advance
• Adapt and differentiate planning to meet EHCP outcomes, developmental milestones, and sensory requirements
• Support pupils'' holistic development-academic, social, emotional, and communication skills-during cover sessions
• Liaise closely with class teachers, the SENCO, learning support staff, therapists, and families to ensure a consistent and effective approach
• Feed back on pupil engagement and progress following each session

What We''re Looking For:

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent
• Experience teaching in an SEN setting (or strong SEN knowledge within a mainstream environment)
• A calm, empathetic, and resilient approach to classroom management
• Confidence planning and delivering lessons independently across a range of abilities and needs
• Passion for inclusive education and a commitment to nurturing every child''s progress

To be eligible you must:

• Hold Right to Work in the UK
• Hold an enhanced child barred list DBS certificate registered with the online update service OR be willing to process a new application
• Provide two professional child related references
