Laing O''Rourke is delivering major infrastructure projects across England and Wales to connect more clean, affordable energy to homes and businesses. The PMO Manager will create and lead the Programme Management Office for a national infrastructure programme, ensuring multiple projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.The ProjectThe Great Grid Upgrade comprises 17 major infrastructure projects to scale up the grid and update existing networks, enabling more clean, secure energy from generation sources to end users, boosting energy security and national self-sufficiency.Key Responsibilities

Establish and lead the PMO function across a portfolio of complex infrastructure projects, building it from the ground up and ensuring alignment with client guidelines, processes, quality standards, and enterprise strategy.Manage interface requirements by fulfilling client and integrator PMO obligations, including oversight of documentation and information across Laing O''Rourke''s allocated projects and packages.Embed best-practice governance, reporting, and assurance frameworks aligned to enterprise standards.Oversee integrated planning, project controls, risk management and change coordination across multiple projects.Deliver accurate, timely performance reporting, insights, and KPIs to senior leadership and key stakeholders.Lead, coach, and mentor PMO staff to foster a high-performing, collaborative team culture.What skills and experience are we looking for?

We are seeking a strategic PMO leader with a proven ability to deliver in complex, multi-stakeholder environments. The ideal candidate will bring a strong track record of success as an influential senior manager, with the credibility to engage at executive level and the experience to operate effectively within an enterprise or alliance context.You Will Bring

Proven PMO leadership in large-scale infrastructure, engineering, manufacturing, or energy projectsExpertise in project controls, risk and opportunity management, scheduling (Primavera P6) and change managementStrong capability in data visualisation and business intelligence tools (e.g. Power BI)Excellent stakeholder engagement skills with the ability to influence at senior levelsA track record of integrating planning, cost, and performance management to support delivery successAbout Us
