Plumbing Lecturer
We are currently looking for an experienced Plumbing Lecturer to join a further education setting on a long-term contract.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced plumbing professional or existing lecturer who is looking to continue their career within education and help develop the next generation of skilled tradespeople.
The Role:
You will be responsible for delivering high-quality plumbing theory and practical training, helping learners develop the knowledge, skills and confidence required to progress within the industry.
Responsibilities:
- Deliver engaging plumbing theory and practical sessions.
- Teach learners across relevant plumbing qualifications and levels.
- Plan and prepare lessons, practical activities and learning materials.
- Assess learner progress and provide constructive feedback.
- Support learners in developing their practical and technical skills.
- Maintain a positive, inclusive and professional learning environment.
- Ensure practical activities are carried out safely and in accordance with relevant requirements.
- Work closely with colleagues to support learner achievement and progression.
- Maintain accurate records relating to attendance, assessment and learner progress.
- Support learners with progression into employment, apprenticeships or further study.
About You:
We are interested in speaking with candidates who have:
- A clear DBS check is required for the role.
- Candidates who do not currently hold a valid DBS certificate must be willing to undergo the required DBS checks prior to starting the role.
- Candidates must be committed to maintaining high standards of safeguarding and professional conduct when working with learners.
- Strong plumbing industry experience and technical knowledge.
- A relevant plumbing qualification.
- Experience working within the plumbing / building services industry.
- Experience of teaching, training, mentoring or supporting learners (preferred but not essential).
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- The ability to explain practical and technical concepts clearly.
- A professional, patient and supportive approach to working with learners.
- Good understanding of health & safety within a practical/workshop environment.
A formal teaching qualification would be advantageous, but strong industry professionals with relevant experience and an interest in developing their career within education are encouraged to apply.
