Overview

We’re offering an exciting opportunity to join Thames Water as a Performance Manager based at our Reading Sewage Treatment Works (STW). In this role, you’ll oversee the daily operations of a major treatment facility and lead a team of up to 14 multi-skilled technicians. You’ll play a vital part in driving operational excellence, improving environmental outcomes, and delivering great service to our customers. This is a brilliant opportunity to build a long-term career in frontline operations as part of our Thames Valley South (Kennet, Pang and Vale) Wastewater Team.Working Hours and Location

Based at Reading STW, with occasional travel to nearby sites.36 hours per week, Monday to Friday.Participation in an out-of-hours escalation rota may be required, as we operate 24/7.What You’ll Be Doing

Inspiring Leadership : Motivate and empower your team while fostering a supportive and inclusive environment. You’ll take time to understand and empathise with each team member, helping to build a strong, high-performing culture.Putting Health and Safety First : Lead by example in promoting a safety-first mindset, ensuring full compliance and embedding safe practices into everyday operations.Operational Oversight : Manage site performance and compliance, ensuring plant availability and reliability to meet environmental and regulatory standards.Performance and Development : Drive team performance through effective work management, coaching, and upskilling, with a strong focus on Health and Safety awareness.Financial Accountability : Manage budgets and identify opportunities for operational efficiencies.Customer and Stakeholder Focus : Ensure excellent service delivery through proactive engagement and timely interventions.Essential Criteria

Proven experience managing operational teams, with strong leadership, coaching, and motivational skills.A passion for Health and Safety, with a track record of creating a culture of compliance and care.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to adapt and lead in a fast-paced environment.A collaborative mindset and the ability to connect across teams and departments.Strong IT skills, particularly in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.A full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle are

preferred but not essential , as you may occasionally visit other sites.What’s in it for you?
