PCB Layout Engineer

Location: Stevenage (2-3 days per week onsite)

Duration: 6 month initial contract

Rate: -60ph UMB (Inside IR35)

Candidates must hold, or be eligible to obtain UK SC Clearance.

Role details:

Our client, operating within the Defence & Security sector, is currently seeking a skilled PCB Layout Engineer to join their team in Stevenage on a contract basis. This role requires strong expertise in PCB design and layout, contributing to critical projects with high reliability standards.

Key Responsibilities:

• Providing full PCB design layouts based on electronic, mechanical, and environmental requirements
• Managing library services, technical support, component placement, signal routing, and peer reviews
• Creating final documentation ensuring compliance with design constraints and prevailing design rules
• Collaborating closely with internal and external stakeholders to deliver projects on time
• Ensuring the final hardware meets project deliverables and design requirements
• Adhering to company-specific design rules and processes throughout project execution

Job Requirements:

• Thorough knowledge and experience in PCB design processes and best practices
• Understanding of IPC standards for high reliability products
• Experience with PCB fabrication processes and technologies, including materials and stack-ups
• Strong communication skills for effective interaction with stakeholders
• Preferably, familiarity with Zuken CR5000 or CR8000
• Security Clearance (SC) required to start
• Ability to work both on-site (2-3 days per week) and remotely as needed
