Payroll Supervisor – Head Office Responsible UK/IE

OverviewHAT YOU’LL DO
As a Payroll supervisor for Head Office you are responsible for Payroll processing, quality checking and securing the correct data. You will ensure all employees are paid in accordance to local laws and regulations and the established Company processing guidelines and an excellent customer experience is delivered. Additional responsibilities include managing the employee admin team and supporting the onboarding of overseas joiners and delivery of relevant tax programmes.
Responsibilities
Reporting to the payroll manager and leading by example and actively demonstrating and living HandM values, encouraging the team to do the same.
Be a main support for the payroll team, advising and guiding where necessary and encouraging continuous improvement and a solution focused way of working.
Delegating tasks to the HO Payroll Administrator and Employee Administrators with the appropriate follow up to ensure responsibilities are understood and carried out to a high standard.
Liaising with Payroll Manager to keep them up to date on payroll status.
Liaising with external auditors and ensuring timely responses to the payroll audit for all legal entities.
Ensuring you and your team undertake continuous professional development in relation to any regulation or legislation changes which impact on Payroll, Benefits and Master Data.
Working cross-functionally to identify and deliver collaborative continuous improvement in processes and systems.
Assisting with or running projects as directed or delegated by the Payroll Manager.
Payroll processing (UK) – leading your team, which includes a HO Payroll Administrator and Employee Administrator team.
Working with external service providers to raise and fix any issues in a timely manner.
Dealing with payroll queries in an efficient way, ensuring a great customer experience.
Overseeing the HO payroll run.
Advising expats and supporting global mobility.
Liaising with the Payroll Manager to keep them up to date on payroll status.
Who you’ll work withIn this role, you will collaborate with multiple teams to ensure the successful expansion of the business. You will work closely with our external tax, payroll, auditor partners and internally with our HR and controlling teams, providing key insights and recommendations.
Who you areWe are looking for people with…
Minimum 4 years’ experience in payroll with a strong knowledge and understanding of how payroll tax and NI, as well as how statutory pay are calculated.
Ability to build sustainable working relationships both internally and externally and confidently communicate with stakeholders.
Knowledge of how to handle data for confidentiality purposes to ensure compliance to Data Protection Act.
Legislation knowledge for Statutory payments as well as a good awareness of statutory payroll reporting deadlines.
Some basic knowledge of Employment Law and Asylum and immigration laws and processes.
