Payroll Specialist

We are supporting a business seeking an experienced Payroll Administrator to manage the end-to-end processing of a weekly payroll on an interim basis for approximately 3 months. Alongside day-to-day payroll delivery, there is a key focus on reviewing current processes and providing insight into how systems and workflows can be streamlined to improve efficiency and reduce manual intervention.Key ResponsibilitiesProcess weekly payroll for c.300 employees, ensuring accuracy and timely paymentsExtract and review time and attendance data, including hours worked and absencesInput and reconcile payroll data within the payroll systemCalculate and process holiday, sickness, and other statutory absencesEnsure all payroll submissions comply with UK statutory requirements (PAYE, NICs, SSP etc.)Handle payroll queries from employees in a professional and timely mannerMaintain and update employee records, including starters and leaversSupport administration of benefits such as pensions and private medical insuranceProduce payroll and ad hoc reports for finance and management teamsReview current payroll processes and systems, identifying opportunities to streamline workflows, improve efficiency, and enhance reportingKey RequirementsProven experience processing weekly payroll of a similar sizeStrong knowledge of UK payroll legislation and statutory requirementsExperience using payroll systems (e.g. IRIS, ADP, Sage or similar)Confident handling payroll queries and resolving ..... full job details .....
