An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the Radiology Department as a Patient Access Coordinator. This full-time (37.5 hours per week, cross-site) Band 3 role involves covering Radiology reception areas, with weekend work mandatory.Please note that the shift pattern varies, ranging from 07:45 to 19:30, including weekends on a rotational basis.We seek enthusiastic, patient-focused individuals with good communication skills, the ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team, and the capability to work under pressure.You will work alongside a team providing comprehensive administrative and clerical services within the main X-ray, Ultrasound, CT, MRI, and X-ray departments, welcoming patients and managing bookings at reception areas. Effective communication with patients and staff at all levels and excellent customer care skills are essential. The ability to work shift patterns and collaboratively as part of a team is required.Within the Radiology Service, which employs over 185 staff across various sub-modalities including CT, MRI, Ultrasound, Pain Film X-Ray, Fluoroscopy, and Interventional Radiology, the Patient Access Coordinator will be the first point of contact for patients and service users, providing detailed knowledge of outpatient and inpatient scheduling procedures.The role involves liaising closely with clinical and management teams to ensure patients receive timely and appropriate appointments according to their care pathways. Act as the first point of contact for all patient access queries to the Trust.Ensure vetting of all new referral letters follows departmental guidelines.Schedule outpatient, elective admissions, and all related appointments based on clinical urgency and wait times, following departmental and Trust policies.Communicate with patients prior to their hospital visits to agree on convenient dates and times.Remind patients of their appointments, which may include sending letters or contacting them by phone up to seven days in advance to confirm attendance.Ensure departmental standards are met for patient notifications and acknowledgments.Provide courteous and efficient service to patients face-to-face and over the phone.Treat each patient as an individual, meeting their specific needs, including providing interpreting support if necessary.Cover reception and face-to-face areas, including weekend shifts.This advertisement closes on Sunday, 10 August ..... full job details .....
