The purpose of this role is to provide an efficient and high standard of clerical service within Maternity; to ensure that a welcoming and professional service is provided to patients; to ensure the smooth running of admin and clerical processes within the Maternity service.This role is to provide admin support to multiple community midwifery teams.Patient administration underpins the patient journey and supports clinical teams in delivering high quality patient care and can make a real difference to the patient experience. Effective and efficient patient administration supports management through ensuring a high standard of data quality and by making the best use of capacity and resources.Main duties of the job
We are looking for an enthusiastic, motivated and well-presented individual to join the admin team with in Maternity. If you would like to make a positive contribution to a patient’s care experience and are a good communicator with excellent interpersonal skills, enthusiastic and adaptable, then we would like to hear from you.The purpose of the role is to provide a professional, efficient and friendly service ensuring that all aspects of administration within Maternity are performed to the highest standard.A key element of the role is the ability to use judgement and initiative to deal with the day to day patient queries/issues raised, liaising and communicating with the wider Maternity admin and clinical teams as needed.You will need to have a flexible approach to work, be highly organised, enjoy working individually as well as part of a larger team and have good keyboarding skills. Knowledge of EPR is desirable but not essential as training will be given. Booking, rescheduling and cancelling appointments using the EPR systemAnswering phone calls, taking messages accurately and dealing with them in a timely fashionProviding a compassionate service to our patientsDealing with e-mailsUsing ScanIt to move records, letters etc in to a digital formatLiaising with clinical staffReporting IT issuesReporting issues with equipment and estatesLearning and understanding patient pathwaysPerson specification
Knowledge
Full working knowledge of Microsoft Office, including Outlook, Email and WordWorking knowledge of a wide range of relevant hospital systems; Viewpoint, Badgernet, EPR, Scanit and Attend AnywhereUse of and ability to manipulate Excel at basic levelKnowledge of the Trusts Policies and Procedures. Understanding of patient confidentiality and data protection (including HFEA if required)Training and Qualifications
GCSE maths and English, NVQ 3 or above or equivalent NHS experienceExperience
