Paralegal - Corporate Governance
Salary: Competitive
Hours: 9:15am to 5:30pm with 1 hour 15 minutes lunch break
Location: Tunbridge Wells
Applicants must be within a 40-minute commutable distance of Tunbridge Wells and hold full Right to Work in the UK to be considered for this role.
An excellent opportunity has arisen for a Paralegal specialising in Corporate Governance to join a busy Corporate & Commercial team. This role offers exposure to high-quality transactional and advisory work, with increasing autonomy to manage your own caseload while supporting senior fee earners.
You will play a key role in delivering corporate governance and company law services to a diverse client base, including corporate entities, partnerships, and private clients.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage a varied caseload under supervision, with growing responsibility for independent legal work
- Draft, review, and amend a wide range of corporate and governance documentation
- Advise and support on matters including Family Investment Companies, Property management companies and Limited Liability Partnership (LLP) agreements
- Conduct legal research and provide clear, accurate analysis to supervising solicitors
- Liaise with clients and third parties, responding to queries and taking instructions where appropriate
- Maintain accurate matter updates in line with client expectations
- Support fee earners in meeting billing and chargeable hour targets
- Ensure all documentation is accurate, professionally presented, and appropriately reviewed prior to issue
- Assist with new client enquiries and matter opening procedures
- Contribute to business development initiatives and wider departmental support activities
- Undertake general administrative and legal tasks as required by the team
Essential skills and experience:
- Relevant legal experience and/or legal qualifications
- Strong understanding of corporate governance and company law processes
- Excellent attention to detail and analytical ability
- Ability to manage multiple deadlines effectively
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Competent IT skills including Word, Outlook, and Excel
- Experience using legal research tools (e.g. LexisNexis / Practical Law) is desirable
- Professional, proactive, and adaptable approach
- Strong organisational and time management skills
