Out of School Club Manager (Designated Safeguarding Lead) – Location: Richmond, South West London. Hours: 40 hours per week, term time + holiday club hours.About the RoleWe are seeking an enthusiastic and experienced Out of School Club Manager to lead and develop our childcare provision. This is a vital leadership role with responsibility for the day-to-day management of our before and after school club, as well as our holiday programme. The successful candidate will ensure the club provides a safe, stimulating, and nurturing environment for children, meets Ofsted requirements, and upholds the highest standards of safeguarding and welfare.Responsibilities
Lead the planning, delivery, and evaluation of high-quality play and care opportunities for children.Act as the Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL) for the setting, ensuring safeguarding and child protection procedures are followed.Ensure full compliance with Ofsted requirements, the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) where applicable, and all relevant childcare legislation.Manage and support a team of playworkers and childcare staff, including recruitment, supervision, and training.Maintain accurate records, policies, and procedures in line with safeguarding, health and safety, and Ofsted expectations.Build strong relationships with children, families, school staff, and the wider community.Oversee budgeting, administration, and day-to-day operational duties.About You / Qualifications
Minimum Level 3 qualification in Childcare, Playwork, or equivalent (essential).Current or recent experience working in a leadership/managerial role within a childcare or playwork setting.Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL) training (or willingness to undertake).Strong knowledge of Ofsted compliance requirements and safeguarding legislation.Excellent communication, leadership, and organisational skills.A genuine passion for supporting children’s development and wellbeing.What We Offer
