OverviewHead of School, Population Health – UNSW Faculty of Medicine and Health. This senior academic leadership role has overall responsibility for the strategic and operational leadership of the School of Population Health within UNSW Medicine and Health.

Employment Type: Full-time (35 hours a week); Professor (Level E)

Duration: Head of School appointment, 5 years initially plus continuing substantive Professor of Population Health

Remuneration: Attractive industry salary package (TFR from $322,691 - $348,855), plus relocation and visa sponsorship offered if required.

Location: Health Translation Hub, UNSW Kensington, Sydney

It offers a broad array of postgraduate coursework Masters programs and supports postgraduate research degrees at Kensington.

Responsibilities

Provide strategic and operational leadership for the School of Population Health and support the Faculty Dean through creative leadership in teaching, learning offerings and research programs within the School and across the Faculty and its partners.

Ensure alignment and integration of the School’s teaching and research with the broader Faculty and UNSW strategy; manage teaching and research quality and impact within the School.

Direct reports include all Academic staff and the School Manager; reports to the Faculty Dean, Professor Cheryl Jones.

Qualifications and Skills

A PhD in a relevant discipline with an outstanding record in research evidenced by funding, publications, esteem markers and impactful translation.

A record of outstanding achievement and leadership in a managerial role in a university, health system or professional setting.

A distinguished record of teaching excellence at undergraduate and/or postgraduate levels.

Highly desirable: track record of innovation in education and development of new programs.

Proven ability to engage with key stakeholders including national and international professional organisations and government.

Evidence of capacity to lead research, education, and health/public health system initiatives and management of change.
