Ocean Export Manager

Ocean Export Manager (Mon-Fri 08.45-17.15. Office based) We are seeking an experienced and motivated Export Ocean Freight Manager to oversee and manage the day-to-day operations of our clients Ocean Export department. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading a team, ensuring operational excellence, maintaining strong customer relationship and driving service quality whilst ensuring compliance with industry regulations. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in freight forwarding, ocean exports and operational management, with excellent working knowledge of CargoWise. Operational Management Manage the daily activities of the Ocean Export department. Oversee export shipments from booking through to final destination. Ensure all shipments are processed accurately and within agreed service levels. Ensure all export documentation is completed correctly and in compliance with international shipping regulations. Maintain excellent relationships with container shipping lines, overseas agents, hauliers and other service providers. Team Leadership Lead, motivate and develop the Ocean Export team. Conduct performance reviews and support employee development plans. Financial Responsibilities Ensure all shipment files are billed accurately and within required timescales. Monitor departmental profitability and gross profit performance. Approve supplier invoices and resolve any discrepancies.
