An exciting opportunity has arisen within our Acute Inpatient Mental Health Service, for an experienced and motivated Occupational Therapist to join a dynamic and innovative Occupational Therapy and wider Multi-Disciplinary Team. The post will be based on Ward 3 at Becklin Centre, which is a working age Male Acute Inpatient Ward. The post is advertised for 37.5 hours per week, with a rolling 7 day shift pattern. This offers flexibility to successful applicants in their working schedule. The Becklin Centre has a wealth of resources, including a purpose built Therapy Suite to support the work of the Occupational Therapy Team.
ResponsibilitiesMain duties of the job
The service offers assessment and treatment to those experiencing a variety of complex needs, presentations and challenging behaviours in relation to their mental health.
The post holder will work within the multi-disciplinary team to provide assessment, treatment and support discharge planning.
LYPFT utilises the Model of Human Occupation framework to inform the overall assessment and the collaborative development of recovery plans for those within the service.
Effective MDT Clinical Leadership drives the service and aspires to equip clinicians with a versatile and comprehensive skillset in order to provide compassionate, therapeutic care.
The role of occupation is recognised and valued on the ward.
The assessments and interventions provided by Occupational Therapists are an important part of this therapeutic offer, provided both individually and in groups.
You will bring your knowledge, skills and experience to effectively plan and support effective transfers to the community.
Successful candidates will be offered structured supervision, appraisal and opportunities for professional development within the workplace.

HCPC registration as OT
Working mental health experience
Demonstrate good knowledge of mental health conditions and impact on functioning and OT models relevant to setting
