OverviewEmpowering learning are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Nursery Chef to join a day nursery. You will play a vital role in preparing healthy, balanced, and nutritious meals for children in our care, ensuring all dietary requirements are met. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who is passionate about food, child nutrition, and creating a positive mealtime experience.
Responsibilities
Plan and prepare fresh, healthy, and age-appropriate meals and snacks.
Cater for children with specific dietary requirements, allergies, and cultural preferences.
Maintain high standards of hygiene and cleanliness in the kitchen at all times.
Ensure compliance with food safety, health, and hygiene regulations.
Work closely with nursery staff to provide a varied and seasonal menu.
Manage food stock, ordering, and kitchen budgets effectively.
About You
Experienced in catering, ideally within a childcare or educational setting (preferred but not essential).
Knowledgeable of food safety standards and holding a Food Hygiene Certificate minimum of level 2.
Organised, efficient, and able to work independently.
Passionate about providing children with nutritious, balanced meals.
