About the Role

Empowering learning are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Nursery Chef to join a day nursery. You will play a vital role in preparing healthy, balanced, and nutritious meals for children in our care, ensuring all dietary requirements are met. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who is passionate about food, child nutrition, and creating a positive mealtime experience.

Key Responsibilities

• Plan and prepare fresh, healthy, and age-appropriate meals and snacks.
• Cater for children with specific dietary requirements, allergies, and cultural preferences.
• Maintain high standards of hygiene and cleanliness in the kitchen at all times.
• Ensure compliance with food safety, health, and hygiene regulations.
• Work closely with nursery staff to provide a varied and seasonal menu.
• Manage food stock, ordering, and kitchen budgets effectively.

About You

We are looking for someone who is:

• Experienced in catering, ideally within a childcare or educational setting (preferred but not essential).
• Knowledgeable of food safety standards and holding a Food Hygiene Certificate minimum of level 2.
• Organised, efficient, and able to work independently.
• Passionate about providing children with nutritious, balanced meals.
